January 2021 Blog Entry
Welcome to 2021, Baystate!
This year, we have tons of cool stuff to look forward to. For real. I want the team to know, that even if things are still in the current state of "shut" in terms of face to face events/races, we will remain busy, training, challenging, competing, and just having some plain old FUN IN 21. Stay tuned to these blog entries and join our Facebook Private Group Page (if you have not yet) for updates.
So, what's new this week, month, year... Here are members of the BSTT board to give you the scoop:

Be Safe, Be Well, Be Happy!
Robin Ireland- Membership: We are excited to have so many new and returning members. On this front we are looking to help out our first time triathletes with a mentor program, hopefully giving training, equipment and racing advice. If you are interested in being a mentor you must be able to commit to being at either the Goddard Stomp Du or the Season Opener. Additionally we will try and keep people within a close geographic area to facilitate training help etc.
If you are interested in being a mentor or having a mentor please let myself or Jackie know as soon as possible.
Sue Clavin-Training: With the new year starts our new resolutions; get fit, lose weight, swim, bike, run more. We all have good intentions but what happens when our enthusiasm wears off? Excuses! The excuses begin and the promises that you made to yourself are forgotten... I’m tired, I don’t have time, the kids need xyz, it’s too hard, cold, hot, I’m not good enough....Excuses are LIES, lies you tell yourself to justify not getting that workout in, not putting yourself first, not making your health a priority. There is always time, get up earlier or break that workout up into 2 shorter sessions! Go to bed earlier than you normally would. Start small, 1 change, then 2 and so on. Will there be days or times when your excuse is valid? Of course! But- if you find yourself in a constant state of excuses it’s time to look within, stop lying to yourself and get real ;) Your excuses are invalid, just ask Ironman Chris Nikic! Don't know who I am referring to? Google him! :)
